Is the joke more obvious in Britglish than in standard mid western 'murican?
Judging from recent TV shows, the folks on the other side of the Atlantic now speak a foreign language.
I have a distant cousin in Australia, he definitely speaks an incomprehensible foreign language.
(There is a food stand in downtown Dayton, that sells tasty New Zealand meat pies; the usual pie rate is 6 dollars, sides extra. It is good to see reasonable pie rates so far inland.)
