As the others have said, the paper thickness is very important.
When I make this kind of construction I provide the inner frames with different outlines (reduced by .5mm and 1mm usually) so that depending on the used paper thickness, the builder can then cut appropriately.
That way I can leave the outer hull as designed in 3D. Just the inner frames are adjusted.
