Whelp, I forgot to attach the screenshot. Right now my process is to corners of the part with the "Draw Bezier Curves and Straight Lines" tool, add a couple of nodes, split it in half, then add in the details as a separate group, copy and flip, and then you have two perfectly matched halves that can be easily recolored.
