Partly true...
admitting defeat isn't the way to go.

But until all designers start standing up for their own rights
it is hard for the rest of us to combat piracy.
I'm talking about taking steps to deal with the unauthorized sharing and selling of models.

There are many designers who don't mind their free works being redistributed,
but I wish they would at least demand some permissions and proper credit.
Make it known that files were copied, shared, redistributed without permission.
Insist that proper requests are made in the future and proper credit is given.

Then there are others who get upset with piracy and lock their models away,
rather than pursue the proper actions and demand takedowns.
To many, its "too much trouble".

Unfortunately this hurts me and other designers,
because many "pirates" think its okay because people don't complain,
and so they don't understand when I (and others) complain about stuff being pirated and/or reshared.

And when it comes to making money off other peoples work, stronger efforts are needed to control these sellers.
Sites like ebay have rules and standards in place to protect themselves and their clients, why not use them?
