Just under a thousand man hours, papermate, but fortunately it was given a temporary home after I built it so i didn't immediately have to worry about talking it home. For a few years it hung proudly at one of the local businesses right next to the 6 foot long SR-71 Blackbird I built for the same group.

I have to agree with papermate, joshuajaesco. I've been building these things for well over 20+ years and even though I have had several in film and television and made some appearances in magazines such as Fine Scale Modeler and Star Wars Insider, its less about the arts and more about the money. When I first started, there was devoted core group of can builders who were seriously producing some great work. Many of them have retired from it all together and those that remain are not as active as they used to be. Can building is not like Paper or plastic modeling where there is a multitude of builders perpetuating the craft. With can artistry, those who still build are its only ambassadors and part of our goal is to further the art with the unique creations we build, whether we share them on forum such as this, or compete in local IPMS competitions...
