And, another Axis Fighter ...just for those interested in PTO planes.
The infamous ZERO!
I started this one before the Fw190...a Japanese Fighter was the first Axis plane to pop into my head for some reason?
But I couldn't decide on a paint finish...
after finishing the German fighter, I went hunting again and came across the correct type of Zero (ASM-2) in a Japanese Museum.
The "not white" finish intrigued me.
Was it white?...no...it was actually painted a very light blue gray (or so I have read) that was then brushed with a shellac or varnish.
The varnish yellowed very quickly, turning the aircraft a pale green colour.
Some of the Zero's appeared to be repainted half white...but I don't have any more info on that.
In fact, I know little or nothing about these planes, so don't quiz me.
I just thought the off-white look was a good contrast to the other Glider models, so thats what you get.
And, as I said, my references were ASM-2 version.
