I usually put a small amount of glue on a piece of scrap plastic or on a piece of glass then dip a plastic toothpick in it and spread the glue on the area to be glued.
I sometimes put a small bead of glue on the area to be glued and then use the plastic toothpick to spread the glue.
Applying glue - trying Q-Tips and so far it works well
