quick short answer = Yes
Longer answer, you can score on the printed side, or you can try some of these methods.
Use a pin to to place holes at all of the fold lines, and then score from the other side.
Or
Use a window or light table and score the kit on the reverse side.
As this is your first kit, score from the printed side, it won't hurt anything.
