Correction to Post 222

The first paragraph of my post 222, above, should have read, "The 246 Hikō Sentai (Flying Combat Regiment), Headquarters (vice "2nd") Chutai (blue fuselage bands), bird was on homeland air defense duties June 1942-June 1943 at Kakogawa air field in southwestern Honshu on the coast of the Inland Sea."

It was either a typo or a mental glitch. The usual IJAAF chutai colors were: blue (headquarters), white (1st), red (2nd), and yellow (3rd, if there was one).

I'm still working my way through the text of entry on the 246th Sentai in the Famous Aircraft (Ketsusakuki) book on the Ki-27s, but have currently been trying to get up to speed on the late-war carrier air groups. And there is other stuff going on.

I hope my error hasn't affected your work, Garry.
