I was fortunate enough to meet a collector who had several of these weapons. He'd acquired them from a southern police station that has stored them since Prohibition.
They were surprisingly comfortable to hold, natural to balance, and felt very functional. He also had a BAR and comparing them was fascinating; the Thompson so much more elegant aside the clumsy Browning.
These were the most fascinating weapons I've ever explored!
