In my opinion, if I have to choose between Epson and Canon printers, I would choose Epson L series printer that are designed to be direct competitor of Canon G series.
The first reason is that the software of Epson printer allows us to control color, paper type, paper size in detail and more accurate than Canon
The second is the print head of Epson is designed to be compatible with both pigment and dye ink, while Canon only allows dye ink. And as you may know, the product from pigment ink can resist water at low-level, while dye ink can not.
Last but not least, the color quality of Epson quality is much more beautiful than Canon (of course, the price is higher a little)
