This is a widely known aircraft.
It survived the war (no destruct report).

Aeronautical Engineer Edgar Schmued with North American P-51-2-NA , 41-37322.
(San Diego Air and Space Museum Archives)
Original 41-37322 was not a P-51A
Basically a modified A36 (P51-1)
41-37322 c/n 91-11983
was a Lend Lease
RAF Mustang IA FD420.
Repossessed and delivered back to USAAF as P-51-2.
Later operated by the 154th Fighter Squadron in Tunisia and Sicily.
"P-51-2" designation is mentioned as such in official USAAF manuals.
Technically, though - this a/c is an F-6A conversion - note the camera behind the pilot's seat.
