Here is a picture of a green anole lizard. They change color like chameleons so this one is brown in the photo. They can be a bright green. I waited for it to extend its dewlap but it spooked and jumped away.
I have seen one of them with the bright green coloring phase jump onto a dark wood post and turn dark brown within a second. Purtyneet.
