Matt - as Wayne said try a spray coating.
Could well work - I spray my paper after printing and then respray the completed model - generally just with a cheap matt (eggshell) varnish from the local hardware shop.
I do this as we get insects that eat the paper and this stops that. plus it helps preserve the model. But we are also very humid as well at times and I have no mould (touch wood) on any of the models.
