Next up is a work in progress, the F21 Sea Hornet. The original Hornet was intended for Naval use but became the fighter bomber version an evolutionary step from the famous DH Mosquito. It shared the wooden construction but had up graded engines and more refined aerodynamics. The sea Hornet was developed from the hornet with a re-enforced structure and folding wings and beefed up landing gear for carrier landings. The F20 was a fighter bomber version then came the F21. this was built with an add-on radar nose and back seat operator intended for night fighting and ground attack. I think there was an F23 that was built for photo-recon use.
The F21 from S&P is a real gem of a project. The fuselage is a series of oval
parts with a cone shaped nose radome that slides on the nose. I built up the canopies and tail surfaces. these were some of the easier [arts of the build...
