An old friend who served in the PPCLI and was once the Oldest Major in NATO told me that during a tour of Canada in the 1960s, the Duke of Edinburgh and his party had lunch at a diner. After the meal, as the Duke was putting his silverware on his plate, the waitress leaned over his shoulder, put her thumb on his fork and said, "Save your fork, Prince. There's pie."
