MAKE MORE with Inkscape – Papercraft et al. - Fedora Magazine at Fedora Linux's magazine mentions Inkscape and extensions geared towards paper models and other CAM workflows. It's more oriented to unfolding and tabs, though; UV mapping and face snapping are not mentioned at all.
