Red face P-27 Kestrel

Hello all...

Some time ago, I thought I'd create a set of fictional aircraft, models designed to be simple builds, able to be completed in an evening. The first, and so far the only, model completed is the P-27 Kestrel.

In the U.S. military series of aircraft, what would have been the P-27 never materialized, so I decided to fill in the gap with this make-believe plane.

Construction is as simple as it can be. A round toothpick supports the wing and provides a bit of airfoil look. The landing gear legs are also round toothpicks wrapped with colored cardstock pieces. I suppose one could also simply color the toothpicks. A flat toothpick supports the horizontal tail pieces.

And that's it. Easy. Perhaps the Kestrel would be a good model for a young modeler to build.
