Sikorsky S.38. This amphibian model played an important step in the transition of Colombian aviation from the waters of the Magdalena River, to the populations of the interior of the country.
Due to the high costs involved in the construction of airports in the interior, the S.38 allowed the development of some alternate routes, which expanded colombian aviation.
Scadta had six units, plus an S-41, all coming from Pan American Airways:
C-45 (???) "Ernesto Cortissoz"
C-46 (114-6) "von Krohn"
C-47 (314-7) "Olaya Herrera"
C-30 (414-7) "Carlos E. Restrepo"
C-50 (214-18) "Vasquez Cobo"
C-52 (214-19) "William Valencia"
C- (????) "Alfonso Lopez" which was actually S-41
