Tedious work, and so very neat!
Regarding bolts or rivets I have been experimenting with various diameter plastic rods by cutting small slices from the rod and glue them on the parts concerned. But the quantities were much smaller compared to the numbers you are dealing with.... Or small droplets of white glue, which I'm using now for the Dauntless. Again, in much smaller quantities
