What you do is drag the part across the blade of a pair of sissiors face up with pressure from your thumb and it will naturaly roll and then cut out the gun slots after you glue it up. Works like a charm.

Got one!

I finally got a Nose Cone completed with #110 paper. It's not glued on yet. I cannot get a clear pic because of the crappy camera Im using.
What do ya think?

Creasing

I can see creasing and compared to the rest of the model it looks like crap! Oh weller, so much for my building skills. Rhaven Blaack, what did you do to stiffen up the landing skids? Mine bend whenever I place down on them. (I know, don't place it down on the skids dummy!)
Well, I'm almost done with the other nose cone.

The only thing that I can suggest, is use thicker cardstock ( and yes, do not set it down on the skids).

Dan,
I've found it easier to make crease free cones using 65# stock rather than 110#. You can make another cone and glue it inside if it needs to be stiffer.

I don't know what size that cone you're making is, but this cone was made from 65# stock and is about 1/2 inch in diameter at the base.

BobH?

Hey Bob,

The same CMASS BobH from TRF and YORF?
Welcome aboard and thanks for the tip.
I have to buy some of the #65 stuff.
I went ahead and used the #110 stock and glued on the cones.
I need to finish this thing!
BTW, what rocket is that?

Daniel

Awesome!

Bob,

Awesome! I thought it was you!
I was hoping it was a jet-like rocket. You know my love for jet rockets.
Good to see you in this forum, I've been lurking here for about a year now. There is a few other rocketeers here also like Astronmike, but you know that. I hope to see some of your work posted here soon.

Yes, I am well aware of your preference for jet rockets.

I didn't know this forum existed until recently. There was a cardmodelers forum that I used to be on but that seems to be gone.

I tend to hibernate in the winter. My workshop area is in an unheated basement so I don't build too much in the wintertime.
