I've got the camo pattern on a shelf in my office.

Very fun build.
I don't mind, just love having the different variants, and having the grey non camo version would make an excellent addition

I am wondering though, if it would be possible to make them into working cameras? Maybe use them as webcams or even "NANYCAMS".
The web-cam I tried to use has the lens built into the board, so it won't fit into the head. But, yeah it would be cool to do.

Here's that 17"(?) version of the lenshead that my printer refused to finish. Both my printer, and my girlfriend's conked out just as the final pages were printing.

Sadly, it may never get done...

I am sure that most any Radio Shack or any good electronic supply store (or even an online shop) would have cameras small enough to pop into one of the models.

Sorry to hear that your printer conked out. It looks really good so far.
I hope that you are able to finish it.

BTW, were you able to contact the guy who owns the website to see if he is willing to repost the Charcoal version of the LensHead type B for download?

I sent the e-mail to him, asking for the link to the file, and included the picture of the charcoal-gray version. I'll post the link if he responds.

And, I should have given a little backstory on the 17" lenshead. It's an odd combination of pastel-purple and green, it has foil-paper additions, and only one chest shield because I messed up the pattern when I enlarged it.
I fixed the pattern, but I can't print out any more pieces, so I just faked it with what I had.

Nope, I'm sorry. i got nothin' from Shunichi Makino.
I showed him the charcoal-gray lenshead picture, and his first response was 3 words. (Not too supprising, as he speaks no english.)

"Is this it?"

and he attached a pic of a prototype2 w' battle accessories.

I responded that, no that wasn't it, and went on a bit about how some want to collect all his papercraft art. How impressed I was with his work.
Keep in mind, this is all probably being machine-translated.

His 2nd response was...

"How about this?"

And a pic of a RB type lenshead.

I figured he was either playing me for a fool, or we just weren't communicating, so i politely said good-by, and thanked him for his responses for paper craft more than 8 years old.

He responded a final time with..

"I am sorry, but I cannot speak english."

And that ends that, I guess.

Oh well.
:P

OK, this post is getting longer than a month of Sundays, so I'll make this my last update.

As you can see, my 19" Lenshead is almost finished.

And here's a (??)" version in progress.

I too contacted Shunichi Makino about the Charcoal version of the LensHead type B.
He said that he no longer has the original files for the at model any more.
So if any of you still have that model on file in your computer, you now have a a very sought after collectors item.
