wait for the glue to dry? hahahahahahahahahaahaha me?!!
my build style is "impatient" at the best of times. I am very guilty of not waiting for anything before i start applying a new part or even burnishing. but I am getting better...usually I will look for another part to work on, to allow the first part time to set up. Pilsworth's model does not have a separate Pod...Hiros does however. But I knew I was reducing the scale, so the pod was not a desired component. I also didn't want the support legs...I am hoping that TB2 will be in flight. My own designs? well, if I ever get to a diorama, I might have to design something. but I do plan on adding a FAB 1 to my Koolwheelz collection. In fact, I would like to design both version of Lady P's car! Fun fact...something many don't know about me. I am in fact a closet diehard Anderson fan. As a child in the early sixties I lived for Supercar, Fireball, Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet! I collected Anderson memorabilia throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s (although I have since sold most of my stuff) I even named my Daughter Penelope! (she hates it by the way!)

Parts are gonna be a little small for TB1...I am attempting to take my time
and build small sections first. I might have to modify and maybe even eliminate some of the really tiny bits. Zathros asked me about card stock weight I use. Even at this scale, I am still using 65lb cardstock. But items like small tuibes and cones can be tricky to form cleanly. The NoseCone for TB1 is one such tricky part...however I am not completely happy with the design of this cone. The attempt to copy the shape and slope of the nose cone just doesn't work very well (in my opinion) And my small scale sloppy build doesn't help! The two parts that make up the nose cone don't sem to match in size (at the connection). I actually cut off more of the cone tip to allow for a smoother transition. I think a one piece cone would have worked better at this size, but I will soldier on as is for now.

Tell Penelope, it's "Penny" from "Lost In Space" that you named her after, of course, that might not help much, could make it worse. It is a beautiful name though, and nice to hear as opposed to the dime a dozen "Heathers", or "Madison's" etc. (I hope you don't have a daughter named 'Heather" or "Madison", apologies in advance if you do, and to anyone else, it's just that in Connecticut, you yell Madison in the Mall, a billion little heads turn, seen it!")

You're too hard on yourself, you can't even see that stuff with human eyes!! (us mere mortals that is, I know you are a real Artist, so that's different).

The main fuselage is simplified in its design
which is fine with me! because at this scale, I need the help! Once again, I am making joiner strips and removing any glue tabs on the main fuselage tube. As you can see from the photo, TB1 will be only about 3" long when completed and the nightmare continues!.... If TB2 is in flight (in my proposed diorama), then I may need TB1 on the ground. And that means adding landing gear! at this scale...should be fun. more to come!

Actually her name is Sarah Penelope. I couldn't name her "Lady Penelope"... that would have been too cruel. So I chose another "Lady" that I was in awe of (at that time). Lady Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. And since Sarah means "Princess", it was an easy choice. So, she doesn't have to use the middle name...but I know its there!

You could always do a seen from "The uninvited" Scot is shot down in that so no u/c on Thunderbird 1 and if you have an old Starfighter kicking about you could make a Zombite Fighter to have a go at Big G.Seen you hint at a FAB1 several times glad your going to do it!.TB1 looks really great.

Thanks all, for your interest.
Phil, I will have to look through some episode stills and see if there is something that appeals to me. I apologize for the self-promoting "Daughter" talk, but as any Parent knows, when given the chance to talk about your kids... lol and I don't usually like posting pics of myself, but just so you can put a face to the "Lady P" and myself, heres a pic taken two days ago... and another of "Lady P" in her own element!

Is that the same TB1? Hiro's model?
or is this another (that I don't have)? TB4 always bothered me for some reason (lol) and it would be too small scalewise anyway. TB3 and 5 would be too big and would be difficult to tie in to a diorama anyway. Has anyone done a model of Fireflash or an Elevator car?
