Amazing how your daughter can ride a horse like that with out the strings getting tangled! nice pictures Dave, I can't find the elevator car,I lost the files and links when my old PC gave up,a shame as there was a model of the halftrack thingy that I was going to use in a diorama with TB2. I think you will already have these Original Paper Models Mole and Pit of Peril recovery vehicle.
Sadly no Fireflash I can find despite that and the Zero X coming up in other Fanderson threads. |

Incredible job Dave, I agree with Zathros, the seems are tight and thats not always an easy job. I have some plane mods I been looking to build and the joints of the fuselage give me cause for pause.

If my recall is correct the elevator cars could be very easily adapted from the Firefly chassis in any case. Simply a matter of exchanging the tracks for 6 wheels and replacing the top decking details with the elevator section and supporting pistons and ancilliaries.
Memory says that apart from the squared-off cockpit of the Elevator car compared to the Firefly tracked vehicle the chassis is close enough the same, and such other differences as exist would not be notice-able in the scale you're working in. Many years ago I had in my hands a copy of the very informative book which pictorially details nearly all the Gerry Anderson models from all the series, and how they were created, used, later adapted and re-used. Back then (somewhere around 1996) that book was $NZ 130.00 + . Respectfully offered suggestion. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your builds thus far here Airdave, Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell. |

Thanks again guys.
Finished up TB1 last night. Not really happy with it, but I don't know what other options I have. I admit I am not the best at building in small scale. I also admit my rush impatient build style sometimes means an inferior qualtiy build. First problems were of course with part size. Some parts just too small for me to cut out and use, so what you see in the pic is basically what I used. (Everything except the uncut parts to the left) I also rolled a tube that fits into the main fuselage. It extends out the base and into the lower Engine/Fin assembly. I couldn't figure out any other way to attach the two parts and the intended spacer strip was too narrow and small to use. I did my best to colour as many edges as possible, but some seams are a little sloppy. The overall look is okay, but I am really disappointed with the Main Wing fairings. At first I considered trying to make something new...but then I thought, no, maybe I should build as intended (Peter's build looks good)... but lets face it, those fairings are HUGE! And the slit marks are really ugly. I haven't decided yet if I will cut them off and try something different. Problem is, all the glue underneath to hold these things in place. I'm sure the fuselage will not survive a refit. Anyway...for now, here are the two craft. I am satisifed with the general look and the Scale size seems to be fine.

They look pretty damn cool together Dave. Thanks for the compliment on my TB-1, i too didn't like the wing fairings {or roots ?} a slight re-design here would be in order especially on a down-scale {they need to be slimmed down a tad, and the lines for the tiny cuts removed or at least coloured down. If you ever feel the urge to design the Fireflash, this would make a few eyes pop out

I'm thinking I might rebuild the upper main fuselage of TB1
and do some new wing fairings. ...and then I could also redo the nosecone and fix the ink bleeds on the fuselage. design Fireflash? haha isn't that Phil's job?

I wish I could design a kit of Fireflash,if I ever get an intelligence transplant and learn how to I will, along with about a billion other kits!!.
Very nice builds I look forward to seeing how you decide to display them. |

design FireFlash lol...actually I said your name (Phil) by mistake.
I should have said Gary (Pilsworth) who has already given us some great Anderson models!
