Awesome, thanks so much for making this model available. I've wanted a model of this station since I was a kid.

Martin,
Is this the model I saw and photographed at the meeting in Bremerhaven last year? I put the picture in my New Photo Collection on Flickr: Den Bakker's Photostream
but did not know any details?

Thank you all. I am glad that you like my model.

@Diderick: Yes, this is my model. Unfortunately, it is still as unfinished, like on your picture. It still lacks some small parts.

Although the illustrated instructions appear self-explanatory, is there any possibility of getting an English translation just in case there's something in the printed material that's important to not miss?

It looks like a very nice model. I may just have to take a crack at it, since SS5 has long been one of my favorite designs. (That said, I've always wondered how it was powered, and how they rid it of excess heat.)

When I print the stuff out on my printer, the diameter (based upon the hemispherical sections on page 6) measures out to 7 5/16ths of an inch, or 18.2 cm. I have no idea if the scaling is proper because there are no calibration marks on the page, and if the instructions speak to how you should print it out, I don't know what it says because I sadly don't read German.

The 2001 wiki page (2001: A Space Odyssey Wiki lists the "real" station's diameter at about 984' or 300 meters, but I've seen other estimates that it is up to 1,400' in diameter.

I'd like to build the model, but I'd like to do it in a fairly routine scale.

Probably was set up for A4, not U.S. Letter.

The model is for DIN A4 160 g / mē paper determined . If it prints correctly, the ring has a diameter of exactly 20 cm.
