print shop

i just found out that i can get 300 printouts+cardstock each po. for 18 cents each, before i exceed the cost of ink cartridges for my printer, which probably lasts me only 100 printouts.
i will probably restock my cartridges next week, and only use them for mods.
i thought that i would just pass that along.
its even cheaper for b&w printouts, for a first run attempt practice build.

and by the way, my
8 gig flash drive
holds every model i have with room to spare. and we all know that we have probably over a thousand models or more .

Do you compress them before they go on the flash drive? I'm about full on my second 8 gig, already, but dangit, some of these models just have to be available should I decide my talents get up to a level to attempt them.

I hadn't priced the print shops around here, but I think I will now. I can't believe that includes the paper. Quite a steal.

i use them in primo and convert them. i have 835 files including small mods.
the printing can be reduced if you put them in adobe format because they dont have to open each page.
so it runs about 11 cents a page in black and white.
a ream of recycled card stock is about 14 dollars.
kinkos or fed ex is more expensive. i reccomend a smaller print shop, something that might be sewing or crafts related.

I have a few models on a Single GB thumb-drive.
I have 5 FULL 8GB Thumbs!!!!
I do have some duplication, and I am going to get a separtate
set of thumb-drives for zip/rar/etc compressed files.
I have them sorted, but am going to have to move many topics to
separate thumb-drives.
ie Hollywood should have an 8 (or even 32) GB thumb all to its own!!!

Too many TREK & Star Wars downloads!!!!

maybe we should start a thread and post what models are able to be shared?
is that legal to do here?
its not really piracy if they are free models are they?
i have heard a lot of arguements about this, is there someway to handle it and make it fair to the authors and subscribers?

I wish you would not start a thread like that.

Another option...

is the refillable cartridges and CISS ink systems. Both are technically simple, and much more economical than the standard OEM printer cartridges. This has already been fully discussed in the forum in several threads, so check them out to get the scoop!
