Building the primary hull next. The design now uses the internal structure to provide all the strength and support necessary and leaves the covering to be hung onto the structure and now serves no structural purpose. Further, in order to retain the smooth outside to the hull only the edge and the centre of the top and bottom of the hull are glued to the structure thus the curved hull remains smooth without being glued to each strut. Once the top and bottom of the hull is attached to the internal structure then the rim of the dish is glued straight onto the internal structure without having to reply on tabs to join it to the hull.

The internal structure is designed to hold the internal decks to be viewed through the windows if so desired and thus they do not rely on the hull to remain in place. Final pictures show the final primary hull with the detail parts added. Next is the simple stand for the sole purpose of holding the model while the nacelles are completed and before the two hulls are married in order to ensure that it has somewhere to sit while completing the model.

Cheers
JP

Next step the simple stand, needed as once you join the main and secondary hull it needs somewhere to stand while you finish the rest of the model.

Next all ths small bits to go on the main hull, the bridge, radar dome and engines. Again not much changed here except that all the domes are edge glued to removed the crinkle effect of the tabs and I have included additional 1mm card disks between each level to make the parts stronger and cleaner.

Have also changed the joint between the two hulls to make it cleaner and avoid the slight distortion the previous version had. All thats left is the nacelles and its done.

Version 1.2 is now complete and ready for upload. Will try get it to the download section asap.

An now the nacelles, not many changes to this part, just a bit of tweaking to enxure that parts fit correctly. The biggest change is adding a thick card end to the tail of the nacelles to ensure a clean join to the body and adding thick card formers to the front nose to avoid the problem of gluing ting tabs and not getting a clean edge.
