I love what you did
Aha, in which I omitted a few parts.

Superbly done with these models! Fine sculpting, and the air intake and exhaust edges are crisp.

I'm looking to convert a not-overly-detailed flight mode VF-1 paper model to be an indoor glider, in as close to Transformers Jetfire deco as is available. If you have a rec for a plan that's reasonably lightweight yet structurally sound, I'm all ears.

Hi Reynolds
I have/had a model of the VF-1D profile that I used for a model in Realflight RC Sim many many many many many moons ago,
I THINK it was from SF:

Now I can't find it here and I only have a very small jpg of it.
I can share that BUT I had a hell of a time to get it to fly tho never well.

Fair warning.Tho I might revisit the VTs again.
Stefan

Thanks! That's OK, and not to hijack Sidewinder's thread here, but as with my other glider models I'm doing contoured 3-D rather than profile. I found a VF-1A plan by Shunichi Makino/Getter1/Janx that's pretty close.

By the way, a couple guys made full-up VF-1 R/C planes, very cool: compilation video, first flight video.

That is pretty awesome that they did that. They should have set it up for vectored thrust. Could have helped compensate for the lack of a horizontal stab. Modeling the wings at maximum sweep, effectively making it almost a delta wing, would also have given it a lot more pitch authority from the elevons. Maybe they'll continue to develop it.

Hmmm
Sidewinder do you know of a "simplified" version of the VF-0D from Macross Zero?
Its a delta wing w/ canards..
anyways enough of my hijacking.
Lots of good work there, SW.

As far as I know there is only one VF-0D papercraft that even exists and it is fully detailed and not a simplified model. And also is not available to the general public only if the author chooses to share it with you, which seems to be the case for a lot of the best macross models.

So I was thinking and it dawned on me that almost every macross model I've ever built has been in fighter mode, only one battroid and no gerwalks whatsoever. Time to remedy that.
