Thanks Radek for your praise but there are many ways this could turn up as a disaster too and I know that too well! More details for you:

I did some wiring and added some other parts on the engine backside. Don't want to over do it so I think I'll let it be for now (it's already a challenge to paint as it is). Next will be the engine supports and I'm sketching those right now - L-, T- and I bars in some sweet arrangement. :-)

Tappi

PS Radek, I'll send you email about the glögi. ;-)

Character building

The support for the engine is on the way and I couldn't hesitate to test the combo in place. Needs a bit more detailing (not to mention the engine bay as a whole) and some adjusting on the engine angle (want it to point a tad lower). Over and out for today, I'll be back sometime next week.

Best Regards,

Tappi

Grokked Out...,

Tappi,

I believe this is a new category for paper models - "Concept Gribbling". One who practices "Concept Gribbling" is a "Concept Gribbler"...,

One who understands and appreciates the art form of "Concept Gribbling" is said to "Grok Gribbling".

I really like this build - guess you can call me a Grokker...,

Tappi,
I'm glad to help. Your build is wonderful!

Yep, that site is mine. The only reason why I don't use my usual callsign here is that the forum can't handle the @ character .
Actually, the snowblower was exactly the reason I designed the engine for. The plan was to put it on downscaled Renova Models' Kraz 255 B, loosely based on a photo from airliners.net. But plans change... finally it ended up here.

Good luck with the rest of the boat!

Amazing

You have an amazing creation going here Tapcho. I look forward to watching it progress. I really admire the creativity you demonstrate, and the ability to just let your imagination run with an idea. And I can see I'll be losing a few hours browsing around the links that have been posted in this thread.

Thanks for sharing,

Steve

@ Gil -I grok, you grok, we grok. Your vocabulary lesson get me gribble grabblin'.
@ Pat - appreciated as always.
@ Radek - More actions below. ;-)
@ Mirco - Those photos - the last one is hilarious!
@ Steve - Thanks Steve and glad you joined the trip.

Not much done but thinking. Airdave pointed out that I had only a forward thruster and wondered how is the steering actually done. Though this is fantasy I couldn't neglect this rightful notion. In modern maritime rotational thrusters are quite common so I decided that this was the way with this ship too. Other pitch and balance issues I leave to the almighty vessels 'anti gravity device, gyroscope plus some positioning and navigating modules'. ;-)

I made a simple pillbox, glued the bottom part to the hull and the lid to the support structure. The fit is snug and now I get to adjust the engine in a position I want. More action features!

My modelling den is at the basement of our house and it's fine from spring to autumn. But when temperatures go below zero it's starting to be inconvenient. +11 doesn't harm in any other way but the glues start to perform oddly - PVA develops immediately a skin on it and CA doesn't cure so fast. I have to move my operation to the living quarters soon.

Best Regards,

Tappi

First time visitor to this thread, and I'm absolutely blown away. Wonderful job converting a 2D conception into a 3D reality. Will follow with interest from here on in.

I'm glad you took my comments as constructive.
I like the fact that you made the engine rotate.

But you are not going to like the other questions I raised
(and just posted on the other forum)!!!
LOL
