Thanks Joe, I'm glad you enjoy the build. Here's a quick update - test fit of the cabin. I removed all the peripherals at this stage because it was a bit too fragile to handle during the build. Besides it helps when I'll paint the thing.
Best Regards, Tappi |

Great Job
Just stumbled across this build and I have to say Tapcho that it is simply fabulous. Outstanding work on all the engine detail. Cant wait to see the finished project.
It kind of reminds me of the flying Oriental food merchant from the 5th Element movie. Keep up the awesome work and thanks for sharing your build with us. Regards, Rick

Thanks Rick and Neptune, I'm glad you like what you see here. I too remember the floating noodle shop from the 5th Element and the idea of these mysteriously floating vessels are common in many other films too - fascinating thought isn't it. Megacities that build up not only by means of vertical structures but also utilising the void space between them. Tough dimensional challenge for traffic control system design. ;-)
I'm currently revising the cabin and building an other version with more rounded corners. Difficult forms to perform but I'm hopeful to show the alternate version (a kind of recycled old ship funnel type of pilot house) for you to judge during the weekend. Tappi |

i am "on board" with this project! brings paper modeling to a fine art level and not just kit building!
i just read everything on dave's site too, love love love the idea of the recycled smoke stacked wheel house,.. even if you have a rectangle base and parts of that show up on the deck past the rounded stack - just have greeble pipes come out of it,... maybe they are pipes to house wiring, or the kind that allow you to speak the mates in the lower deck or just add deck plating with rivets to cover it up so they are access hatches! |

Dear Sir Tappi:
Mild Bump to see if you are ok because we have not had our fix of your desiging genus on the Flying boat. We understand if the real world has come to put a slow down in your card creation. Thanks , MILES |
