This is amazing, and I can just imagine how many hours went into creating it. Excellent work! And I love that you did it the old fashioned way!

well the kong arm test came out real good, but the ghili suit type strips out of paper didn't work, false eye lashes might work. maybe some kind of actual hair, 1/8th of an inch long could be directly glued to the bald ape form. im beating my brains out on the big tos enterprise, the big Jupiter 2 and some others along the way. so I gotta put kong down and go throw these guys off the log. if you know what I mean.
the paper model jungle is just too tough!

Using the three foot rule, you could probably get away with (and well) using a smooth surface with image (not physical) textures...Kong generally looks quite smooth unlike, say, Swamp Thing, who has a much more 3D surface. I doubt that you could find anything that would really look like scale hair/fur. I am just looking at my biggest Rottweiler sprawled under my desk at the moment and even in the light his fur appears as a very smooth surface...

I know, and thanks for that. I have had a lot of problems with it printing right, and also since it is a smooth surface, the joins make it look like mecha-kong instead of king kong. if I found a textured sheet, like the football texture I used on the trex, I might be able to start. by the way the legs are still to skinny on the trex.

kong hair paper

here is a pic of kong , and my best shot I have to print out, it seems when printing black, in order to get any visibility, you need high contrast. I probably wont get that nice sheen like your dogs have.
if you have any suggestions please present them.
