Dark Star Scoutship

Dark Star has to be one of my favorite films of all time - by the way, if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you do. - and after scouring the internet to see if anyone has done a paper model of the eponymous vessel from the film, all I could find was a very simple model.

I figured I might as well do my own, and so far I've come up with this:

Nevr saw it, but I've heard about the last scene with the crewman trying to surfboard down into the atmosphere!

Oh man, you have to watch this film; it's bloody hilarious! Think of it as Das Boot meets 2001: A Space Odyssey meets your typical stoner film.

I've included a miniature Bomb No. 20 with all its existential exploding goodness!

You have to watch it, and I really mean WATCH it, watch it till the end. When I first saw the film I thought, what the heck was that, and switched to another channel. It simply eluded me. A few years later I watched it again, mostly by accident, and I almost killed myself laughing. There are so many hilarious scenes, dialogues and situations which will burn into your memory forever. But be aware, if you are accustomed to big budget space operas you will first have to unlearn what you have learned, to quote a good fellow of mine!

(I guess Spielberg couldn't have done the elevator scene better! )
