MyLittle Ship

Hello Friends Because of recent inspirational and motivational discourses, I'd like to present my own little build thread. Now, apologies to those who may have been expecting a Thunderfighter or even a Blitzspear, but this just popped into my head yesterday so I doodled it down and decided to make a papermodel of it.
It's a sort of cross between a Mig 29 and a trilobite; I've been doodling (but never building, funnily enough) space hardware since I read my first Sci-Fi novel (War of the Worlds) over 40 years ago. And there are years and years of being inspired by the Art of such luminaries as Chris Foss, Tim White, Kev o'Neill, Roger Dean, H.R. Giger, Jim Burns, Moebius etc etc etc so I make no claim at all that anything I do is original
My thanks to Silveroxide for his clear and logical threads, which encouraged me to do mine this way, and to Raven Blaack for inspiration to dare to go outside the box, albeit in a small way for my part!
Hope you can read it all O.K.

My Little Ship II

This is where I'm up to at the end of the first day on this ship. I've decided not to have the wings (they were added as an afterthought on the sketch anyway, just to see if they worked or not) thus keeping it as initially drawn. Once all these paper parts are assembled, the thing'll get taken to pieces for scanning so I can do the linework and add colours and textures in PS7.
I'm liking the idea of giving this ship textures like a beetle carapace; something very animalistic. That's a way off yet, so we shall see

You're welcome :-) and yes, I'm really enjoying designing 'on the fly' again with pens, pencils, paper, scissors and glue!

Hello Gixergs, and thank you for your comments :-) Yes, that would indeed be Nemesis' Blitzspear - something I've had on the design back burner for years. I have been persuaded to build an Ecto-1 from the Ghostbusters film for a friend; I downloaded it a long time ago, but it needs a fair bit of work, so it'll take a while, but the Blitzspear is definitely now something I shall bring to the top of the pile on the 'to do' list. Watch this space :-)

My Little Ship III

Hello again An update on work so far; later this evening I'm going to scan the parts, and begin the Photoshop work to make the 'White Build' version to see if anything really does fit together.... (is this what folk call a 'Beta Build'? - I always wonder where the Alpha one got to....)
I'll be posting pics of the PS work, because there may be something of use in there, and it will show my working methods. Apologies in advance if this bores you all rigid but there would be a long wait otherwise before there's anything to show!

I always called the in-design process the alpha build. The build after you scan it in is the beta build.
