Millenium Falcon - my 4th model

I chose this as my fourth model because I've always loved the asymmetrical design of the Falcon, and was a big SW fan when I was younger.

This is the Japanese kit, not to be confused with the similar but more detailed Polish kit also available on the web.

The beauty of this kit is that it's suitable for a relatively inexperienced builders like myself, but can still be done with a lot of flair and detail if you have the time, patience and experience.

For example, I didn't know what "greebling" was until I searched the forums to see if anyone had built and posted on of these before, and there is an excellent example here of what a skilled modeller can do with this kit: Millenium Falcon [Shunichi Makino]

I'd already finished my 'flat' version before seeing this, but I'm inspired by that level of detail that I hadn't even considered (it's not part of the instructions for the model). I may yet go back and add some greebling to my already finished model, as it's still possible.

You did a GREAT JOB on this model. Yes, there is a GREAT DEAL of Greebling that you can do with this model.
I would recommend that if you are going to greeble it out. Build another and greeble as you go, and use this one as your guide to what you want to do and how you want to do it. Reason for being, there will be areas that you will want to either raise or recess (or even a combination of both).
Either way, have fun and I look forward to seeing your next build.

Great work on the Falcon. Greebling makes for a much better look but it can be really time consuming depending on how far you go. I agree with Rhaven, it's easier to greeble as you go than on a finished model because you'll see things you want to do but can't get at any more. The great thing is you got this one finished, and that makes it easier to see what you'd like to detail.
