Klingon D7

Does anyone know where I can download a model of the Klingon D7 battle cruiser, in 1/1700 scale if possible?

I downloaded one recently but can't remember offhand where it is. It was 6 .jpg files, and the same site had a USS Daedalus (Not Diego's).

Let me dig a little more, otherwise I'll email it to you since I know it was a proper freebie.

A little more digging reveals that the model is by Marc Robitaille and was at one time hosted on the now gone Billy's World. There's a copy on missouri1981's webshots album (is this Billy?), but I've never been able to successfully download the models from that site. I know I found it on another site, but I remember that it was a fluke that I ended up at it.

Klingon D7 pictures from crafts photos on webshots

If anyone knows a way to get these or any other models originally hosted on Billy's World, it seems that Chris and I (Chris lol) would truly appreciate it.

Oh yea, I also saw a few links to build threads on Z when searching for "klingon d7 Marc Robitaille", but I'm still IP banned and couldn't see if they were useful. Give it a shot.

And PM me your email address if you need the files I have. There's no scale listed so you'll probably have to measure a particular part and figure it out.

Its over here but Im not sure of the scale. I did a partial build at full sixe, measured it then reduced the print for the 1:1700 sitting in my build stack but I dont remember the %.
Link for Marc's site

That's the one! I knew I found it hosted somewhere along with the Daedalus! Well played SW! :D

By the way, speaking of Klingon ships. I know we were waiting on a Negh'var on the other forum, but has anyone seen this (simple) Negh'var model?

KLINGON NEGH'VAR

Certainly not detailed enough to make at 1:1700, but figured I might post it anyway. Skip's Birth of the Federation project has some nice simpler models for those just getting into the hobby.

Ive got that one just havent bothered with it due to the detail level (or lack thereof). Have even seen skip expressing distaste for it, one of the reasons he abandoned that project. He does however have the only Negh'Var, Ferengi Marauder, and Romulan D'Deridex (Until Zosho finishes his) models extant right now.

Ok, doing some scale calculations here:

K'tinga (D7) Class battlecruiser - overall length: 228m

Measuring a profile shot gives me a warp nacelle length of 34% = 78m

At 1:1700 scale, 78m -> 4.6cm = 1.8in (easier to do printer calcs from inches)

Now the original file will print out at 8x10.5 at 300dpi. I'll consider this the designed size. At this resolution, the nacelle is approx 40+1120+240=1400px long. At 300dpi, that produces a nacelle 4.67in long (full scale). Quick side math indicates that original scale is somewhere around 1:660.

To scale down to 1:1700, print at 1.8/4.67 = 38%

Or, using my scaling method, I would instead create a 8x10.5 sheet at 780dpi, and copy all the parts onto it. This allows no detail loss and will probably net all the parts on a single sheet.

Can you tell I'm an engineer (read: geek)?

ah yes I remember now. your dead on with the original scale at 1:660 or so. Just needed my memory jogged.
As a sidebar I also have the new orleans class from the webshots site but havent attempted a build yet, the textures are kinda bad
