Looking good. See you've already figured out a trick that took me awhile: write the number on the back before you cut it out.

Coming along nicely... There's definitely an art to learning how to brace parts while the glue dries without having to hold them. I've collected a lot of bits and pieces to help with this over the years. Pegs, clamps, magnets, small but heavy steel offcuts, to name just a few.

When working with some glues, it pays to be patient and let them dry properly, while clamped or restrained, to prevent warping.

Progress has been very slow, I went on holiday and then work became a nightmare. Anyway I guess some progress is better than none :-) I've attached some pics.

Life can be that way sometimes :-) But the progress looks great. Looking forward to more (whenever it may be).

Finally glad to say I've finished my Millennium Falcon build. It has taken me just over 5 months on and (mostly) off. I've really enjoyed my time building it and I would recommend building this model to any beginner. It is challenging but if you take your time and re-do any bits you mess up (like I've had to do) then you'll do fine BUT more importantly you'll learn so much.

I'm definitely going to do more models and certainly more Star Wars stuff but for now I'm going to have a go at a scratch build Ford Cortina mkII 4 door (OO gauge) hopefully very close to what my Granddad used to drive (only his was much bigger). I might fall flat on my face with that but I'm going to give it a try.

I've attached some pics of the finished version of the MF.

Congratulations and well done. You've done a great job for a first attempt, good luck for your next project, looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I've been studying this kit a bit closer recently, thinking I'll use it as a base for a large, high detailed version I'd like to take on as a future project. Looking at how yours has turned out makes me think this kit will be perfect for what I plan to do, thanks for sharing the pics.

Yes, I've had some ideas too, such as printing extra copies to raise some of the printed detail and I'd love to make the cockpit to include Han, Luke, and Chewy. I also thought about illuminating the rear exhaust and it would be great to have the under carriage door open like in the scene where Obi Wan gets killed. For now I'm eager to do other builds but it's food for future projects.

Yep, I've been wanting to do something like this for years, ever since I saw earlier versions of this kit and there was another build on a German forum a long time ago that was also very highly detailed.

I already had a major project underway but it seems I can no longer resist the temptation to take on this Falcon one at the same time. I just finished building this kit to use as a sortof reference while I build the larger one. Thanks for the inspiration that finally pushed me over the edge.

Yes, I have built the same kit in a bigger scale (1:45) with underside and inside Cockpits and lighting...
