Thanks - i am happy that you like it.

However… i feel quite uncomfortable with the term „professional“.
Why?
I know that it is clumsy and sloppy.
Compared to the real pros, it is a sorry would-be project. It is my project, i am allowed to be that rude about it

But… the results DO look nice enough.
By cheating. A little like a plumber who makes extensive use of silicone, if you know what i mean.

Another but: it is a rather… untraditional approach to achieve a result - without having mastered the established technique.

So, maybe if we call it a different technique… in which i qualify as a professional due to lack of competition and comparism.

Call this my strange sense of humor - i would not call it „lack of self confidence“.
And it definitely is no pathetic attempt of fishing for compliments

Again, i am really happy that you like it - and that is a kick of motivation

Roger, thank you for your follow-up insights. If you have not yet seen “Adam Savage’s Tested” YouTube channel. He talks extensively on model building, kit bashing, and the process of building.

Everyone comes at the creative process from a different starting point. Not everyone is going to have a pretty or clean build process. It is ultimately the final outcome that is what we are all captivated by in your work. Professional or not, your skills have earned my respect.

The wings are done.

And also attached to the hull, same goes for the rear thrusters.
Alas, the magnets turned out to be too weak. I used 1mmx5mm ones glued on the outside.
Since those have not been sufficient, i cut open the hull again and dropped 3mmx4mm magnets in - which self-attached to the magnets on the outside from the inside and added up to the strength.

THIS was enough.

Still much work on the hull surface... i would say, i have completed about 40% now. And then there is also still the missing cargo / passenger bay hatch.

I also need to make a few adjustments on the angles the wings are attached to the hull.

Wow, this is some epic work you are doing here! The tanks, the pelican, the technique - all amazing. I am absolutely in love with the rounded bevels you added to the pelican.

This is inspiring; I've wanted to build some Tau vehicles for a while, but they have super soft shapes, not blocky like most Imperial or Space Marine gear. You are putting ideas in my head here

Now THIS is funny... because i just posted under your stormblade something very similar seconds ago.

Consider me a fan of your work.
And what you think about my technique for round shapes: I had pretty much the same idea when i realized what i was doing there. Making a not-crappy-looking Eldar tank someday looks much more realistic now.

Yeah! Eldar too. The Patoroch templates are very angular, but I think by adding these bevels you could really make that work.

Looking forward to seeing more of the pelican!

A couple of WIP shots from surface details on the side.

from the second half of drawing&cutting the parts for the rear

parts applied (at least on the first side) and the rear hatch.
I would say that i am getting even closer to decent looking vents :-)

An update on the rear hatch (now also with adjacent rear landing gear) and more surface details (needed to remake about 1/3 of the prepared ones from the photo in the last post... they just did not fit any more).

By now, i would say the overall building phase is 95% done... meaning only >10h remaining. Try & Error is sooooo sloooow...
