T47-Snowspeeder - Star Wars

hello everybody,

I think you know this 1:20 scale paper model for free download from paper-replika.com. Designed by Julius Perdana.
On a scale of 1:20 its measures (L) 31 cm / 12.20" x (W) 26.5 cm/10.45" , too big for my showcases.
So I reduced it to 1:48 (13 cm /5.11" x 11 cm / 4.33" ). It includes 14 pages of parts and a very clear assembly instructions with photos can be followed online on the Julius website.
This magnificent model, very well studied and bearing splendid textures, is faithful in every way to the machine of the film.
The cockpit is complete. I added the 2 crew members, the pilot and the rear gunner. To make them I used Paulestudio's Paper human skeletons at 1:48 and I dressed them in their free downloadable paper uniform on the same site at 1:33 scale and printed with a reduction to get 1: 48.
The difficulty is the assembly of certain parts due to the downscaling.
Certain part thicknesses have no longer to be respected, and certain parts being very small, they become complex to shape. You have to show initiative to build them.
To showcase this T47-Snowspeeder, it had to be put in the context of history.
The sketches show him during the Battle of Hoth, dodging a first laser fire from an AT-AT,
The laser shot, a painted toothpick, hits the snowy ground. The explosion is made of cotton on a wire base, all dusted with artificial snow. The ground is an image of a snowy ground and it is highlighted in places with thin plates of depron cut out and painted in 2 colors: white and ice blue for the reliefs, then dusted with artificial snow.
Another laser fire is preparing, it is glued on the paper wall and made simply from a painted rod and cotton.
A 2nd T47-Snowspeeder takes the AT-AT located the foreground from the rear. It is a reduced paper image of the machine fixed at 3 cm from the background decoration.

What a well designed diorama. Clean build, great base and background. Perfect!

Hi and thank you.

Regarding the pilots i 've explained
"To make them I used Paulestudio's Paper human skeletons at 1:48 and I dressed them in their free downloadable paper uniform on the same site at 1:33 scale and printed with a reduction to get 1:48.

A classical scene but very rare theme for the paper diorama. It looks really great!
I am especially amazed of your paper pilots (and thanks for the link to the PauleStudios figures).
