Y'know, as good as this build is turning out, you might consider buying copper paint and painting the deflector dish and amplifier rings.

You know, paint and I don't get along all that well. It tends to get everywhere it's not supposed to.
Plus this was one of the bigger reasons I stopped modeling in plastic - Don't like to paint. But thanks for the compliment! I'm quite happy with how it's turning out. For me it's more about the build than the end product. :D

I completely understand. The reason I model in paper at all is that you can skip the paintjob and decals.

Or just use the parts from Ron's original files, they're a pretty good copper colour.

Did I mention I really don't like building the nacelles?
Lol, they always have so many tiny parts, and then once you finally finish one, you have to build another! :p
Here's the port nacelle: And a dry fit onto the hull - looks pretty good:

Trust me, printed copper is *no where near* as good as actual copper paint. Or silver, gold, brass, steel . . . etc, either for that matter. Even better would be an actual metal dish.

But then it wouldn't be a paper/card model, would it?! :D

Mr. Sulu - Ahead Warp Factor One
The Enterprise is complete! It went together quite nicely and I even got two nacelles that I like on my first try.
The only issue I had was that the internal formers/pylon guides wouldn't allow the pylons to sit at the right angles, so I snipped the ends off the pylons leaving only a millimeter or so to go into the nacelle and the hull, which allowed for more play in the angles to line things up right. Probably a case of my messing up the formers but it worked out in the end. Here we go with lots of pics: :D And detail shots: And all of Kirk's Enterprises are complete in my 1:1700 fleet (allowing the 1701-A to stand in for the same design 1701-refit): Thanks for watching!
