Y-wing from Star Wars; free download by friji2001

Forced by my grandson (7.5 years old) who has been on the Star Wars trip for a long time, I decided on building this space ship after stumbling upon the kit in our "Downloads" thread. Although I’ve been building cardboard models for over 60 years now, this one was the most difficult thing that has ever come under my scissors! No parts numbering (but at least there were some side descriptions, like "fuselage" or "engine"), no assembly instructions or drawings - the only thing I could lean on were computer-generated renders of the model project. Some parts are repeated, some I couldn’t even discover, and some are a product of my imagination. In spite of it all, the assembly was real fun for us (grandson: cutting out parts 90%, glueing 10%, while I did the rest), and I think the result is worth seeing - even my wife likes it!
And the most beautiful thing for me is the fact that I seem to have awoken my grandson’s interest in cardboard model building!!!

Wonderful!

I would probably have struggled with my language as the difficulties arrived, even with my grandson present. The only things I have built with him are things I previously built and I think we can handle together.

Great job
