BSG Viper2 by Ninjatoes

This Viper Mark 2 is a 1/36 scale model of the iconic space fighter from the science fiction TV series Battlestar Galatica. It is designed by Ninjatoes and is a free download here: Battlestar Galactica – Ninjatoes' papercraft webpage . There are 6 pages of parts (including 1 page for a simple stand). Page size is 11.7 x 8.3, so I printed the model on legal size paper. A very good step-by-step .pdf instruction manual is available. The finished model is 10.5 inches long.

I think this is a good intermediate skill level model; not too complicated and not too simple. Building the fuselage is done by constructing the outer skin and assembling the inner structure. Then the inner structure is inserted inside the skin.

A tab and slot system is used to assist in the placement of the engines, tail and wings.

When using the simple stand provided, the back of the model rested on the wings. I didn't like this arrangement because I think it will eventually cause the wings to spread. So, I built a launch rail to display the model on. The launch rail is included in a Viper I model, which is a free download at Murph's Models website here: TV and Movie Vehicles

A couple of views of the completed model. It isn't perfect due to my novice abilities, but I think it looks ok.

Very nicely done, sir. You are probably very wise in using the other stand. Visually interesting and better on the model.

Have you checked out Blake7's repaints? https://www.papermodelers.com/forum/...=searchresults

Yes, I have the files for all of the repaints on my external harddrive for future consideration. I chose the original paint scheme because I think it is the best looking.
