GUVP No.2 WH40K version

I recently completed this Warhammerized version of the Soviet GUVP No. 2 tank design from the mid 1920s. GUVP was the official bureau in charge of tank development in the decade following the Russian communist revolution.

The model was designed by Trott 02, and it's a wonderful kit. I did my usual recolor, but part redesign wasn't needed - every piece fit perfectly. Using the dimensions of the proposed tank, the finished model scales in at 1/32, measuring 7.5 inches long. It has a lot of parts, mostly in the tracks: 3 pieces per link, 51 links per side with an internal joining strip holding everything together. 3 x 51 x 2 + 2 = 308 individual pieces of paper. Truthfully, track strips would have looked pretty much the same with a lot less effort. I tried to work in a bit of "drape" which seems to be common with Russian tanks.

I reinforced the hull internally with thin corrugated cardboard rather than using the rectangular formers which came with the kit. Other than that, it was an "out of the box" build.

Enjoy the pics
