Sidewinder...can you point me to the model of the original Enterprise
(shown in your first pic above)
and did you resize the model?
if so, to what percentages?

also, I am confused as to the alignment issue you and hawkman have just mentioned.
can you illustrate that a little more for us?

I'd like to give both of these kits a try, but want to avoid any surprises! lol
my skills are bad enuf as it is!

AirDave;
From my spot, I discovered that the "Engineering" panels were not the same shape as the blank spots they were to cover, the first and last piece did not have the correct angle to cover it all, I had planned on Photoshoping the panels on to their respective parts any ways so as to avoid an ugly step created by layering the pieces, in that scale it is a huge step and I wanted this to look as nice as possible, If you like PM me your e-mail addy and I can send you the new pages with the corrected parts and I reworked a few other parts as well like the impulse engine, I flipped the vent parts as the angles were reversed, and I redid the Hangar Bay doors as they needed to be larger and have more of a slope. these are just personal nit pics, But she is a big model and deserves to look her best.

Well hawk seems to have covered what i meant about alignment issues so ill go straight to the Enterprise. It is Mike Hungerford's repaint of Ron Caudillo's excellent model. I built it at its original 1:720 scale then scaled down Rawen's refit to match.
The model is available here Mike Hungerford: NCC-1701 USS 'Enterprise' Model

I'm working on Ron's model now, it builds very well indeed. I'll have some pictures up soon.

Rawen, I'm starting work on this build but I want to include the interiors. It might be worth a few moments to provide some quick guidance on placement of some of these elements. I can probably figure out placement for the shuttlebay interiors on Sheet 6, but I'm less clear on the rec space on Sheet 3 and the interior space on Sheet 1.

Thanks again for your work in putting this version of the Enterprise together. I honestly have no idea where it will go when (if?) I'm done, but I'm gonna have fun along the way!

(unless someone like Sidewinder has some input?) :D

Hi;
I can help you a bit as well. Ok the piece on page one goes behind the large windows of piece two, that is the officer's lounge. the Rec-deck part goes centered behind the windows on the aft starboard quarter of the primary hull, which is not done yet. hope this helps. The Arbouretium goes centered behind the big windows of parts 11 and 13.

Thanks, Jeff, that confirms some of my suspicions. I just have to figure out the folds and tabs laid out for the Officers' Lounge, although it might make more sense once I get the bridge module built.

As it turns out, I just found my copy of Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise and there's a great cross-section of the secondary hull that shows the Arboretum in place. Now I just need to sort out the sequencing for the shuttle/cargo area. ;-)

Glad I could help you out. The officer's lounge is a bit of creative liscense and does not match the diagram in the Guide. I am thinking of doing a couple of versions of it and see how it will turn out. On the landing-bay/cargo complex set it starts off with the piece in the upper right corner, The landing-bay it self, then the piece from the bottom left, the one that has the elevators on it, which goes with the elevators closest to the LB part. then the cargo bay last with the bulkhead with the cargo pods facing aft towards the landing-bay part.
