-> Sithcundman: I plan to make all interiors that would be visible through the doors and windows - that means cockpit, dining area and cargo bay. Maybe even some airlocks .

And about the moving parts planned: rotating gravity rotor, pivoting engines with turning fans, opening flaps over reactor vents, opening cargo ramp and bomb bay doors and moving shuttle holders. It would be impossible to make actually retractable landing gear, so it will come in extended and retracted form which will be interchangeable.
And the internal bulkheads will be designed to provide enough support and space for batteries, wiring, motors and lights... if everything goes smooth .

By the way, has anybody built the shuttle already? If so, post some pics - I'd like to see her in colour

Small progress report

So here is the one from last week:

And this is from yesterday:

This part is quite tricky and is still WIP. Don't worry, this is not final .

Finally, the transition part took its final shape:

Then there were many invisible, but important changes of the internal geometry of some parts. Now I'm working on the "neck" sides and bottom - I recently found that the cargo bay is designed as a detachable module which connects to the hull by a flat flange (not what I have there now).

Looking good...I suppose the detachable cargo pod is a good idea and might have been a feature that would have been in future episodes in short-sighted studio execs hadn't pulled the pin on the series..might male fro some interesting what-if modelling...

I didn't know about the detachable cargo bay. Interesting.

It does seem to be "configurable" in some way, as the bay door seems to open on different sides depending on which episode you're watching.

On behalf of Browncoats worldwide who don't have several thousand dollars to drop on a premade version of the best ship in the 'Verse:

1. Any estimates on final dimensions?
2. Any estimate on completion date?

Seriously, are you done yet?!?!?!?! C'mon, man, need my fix!!!!
