So, I've been away for a while. But I have been watching this thread grow. but I can't seem to see Micro's photos. Papa's look GREAT! I can't help but feel a sense of incompleteness. There is something missing in my life...and i think it's Micro's photos :'(

Sorry for the long pause. Serenity is still on hold, but that's about to end soon.
Here is some filler picture for now: Parabolic reflector optimized for a hi-power LED, supposed to illuminate the road uniformly without dazzling anyone in sight. Awesomely hi-tech cardboard and aluminium foil . If it works, the templates will go to the web.

Finally, a progress report again!
Finished drawing the solar panels yesterday, the last parts to do are the holding brackets for the two on the nose. Then a quick fit test (I'm sure the paper model is much rounder than the computer thinks) and go finish the interiors. I promised to be done by the end of this year... and that's final! P.S.: Here's the bike you heard so much about: BTW, the parabolic reflector didn't work - not enough current for the big LED to light up properly (well, it might help if there weren't more than sixty other LEDs draining the generator...). Replaced with 25 smaller LEDS and it's much better.

Don't ask me why a nuclear-powered spaceship needs solar panels. And what keeps them from being torn away during reentry . Anyway, they're finished, tested and debugged:
The two ones on the nose are too far apart, but the computer says they are OK, so I hope it's due to the old prototype cockpit they are attached to. Anyway, you can always cut the struts shorter. To be continued next week.

Looking good so far.
I won't ask why it needs solar panels and why they don't get torn off during reentry if you don't ask why they land their entire vehicle on the surface of a planet instead of sending a shuttle type vehicle; and if you don't ask how something with absolutely no aerodynamic surfaces can maneuver in an atmosphere when all power is lost. Just keep telling yourself it's only a movie.

I read somewhere they were a cooling system added after construction.
I don't remember if I read it in the QMX plans/sales book or the Serenity rpg or the novel of the movie |
