Psh, real modelers don't make a wings down and wings up version, they make a version with hinged wings.

Hah, but I think that crosses the line into paper engineering... :p

Actually, if I am correct in my thinking, it should be pretty easy to do
take piece of parchment paper or a piece of plastic , and sandwich it between the wing sections, and use that as your hinge surface for the wings to move (this is using what CharlieC does with his tank tracks) Rick

I think the hard part about making the wings poseable (or even a different static position) is that the large dark colored humps on the hull form a sort of piston for the wings' movement. So in order to have the wings pivot, you'd need to have a collapsible structure within that section so the lower section could slide in and out of the upper. Far from impossible, but I haven't seen the guts in there yet.

Chris,
I understand, but you can always mod those pieces, might have to put my money where my big mouth is

I could probably do it on a pretty large scale, with regular hinges. I might have to now, just to prove it...

Check out this site:
Bird of Prey Hinge These fellas have come up with an aftermarket hinge set to the AMT plastic kit - the engineering of which is displayed on the site - should help in doing it to the paper kit...
