Unspeakable Cults & Mysterious Creatures
Here are two models I found online that intrigued me.
I am a big fan of H.P. Lovecraft. One of the best authors ever. I decided that I needed a break from building my Gearz Galactica 'bash for a couple of days (explained in that thread). I like how they turned out. They are also great props for those who do gaming. Here's how the model starts for 'De Vermis Mysteriis' "Creepy Lighting" Clearer picture Bottom of the book Pages Top Binding Back And now for the 'Unspeakable Cults' book by 'von Juntz. The "kit". First set of folds The other side After making the first book--cool as it is--I noticed it was very light. Weight-wise. So, I decided to give it a little more heft for the size of book it is. I cut some cardboard from a 'Eggo' box to the correct size, added glue, gravel and sand from the driveway, let it dry (tapped off any loose stuff). Interior 'pages' Then added to the inside. Here's the completed book: The cover Lower pages Side pages Top Binding Back Here are both books together: Tops Different angle These were a fun side build. Rather simple. Actually the De Vermis was a bit more difficult in the way it was set up to glue the pages together. Still a nice little diversion. Adding the weight was not necessary; that's just me. :D:p Enjoy. Those are pretty cool :D I used to read Lovecraft a lot in school.
Here's a site I think would be interesting to you, Haunted Paper Toys Lots of good distractions in there when you need a quick build of something G1 |

Pretty groovey - they would make nice "secret" boxes for my little girl. Can you post the links?

I like reading HP Lovecraft sometimes. Some interesting themes.
Here is a pic of denizen of the deep mourning the loss of the man.

I don't believe I've run across these before - can somebody provide a link to where they are available?
And very cool props. I love reading Lovecraft and have played a bit of 'Call of Cthulhu' in my day (as well as having the license plate 'cthulu' for a while).

Nice! }:>) I am a big Lovecraft fan, and unspeakably happy to get these.
Thanks, Battlestar Girl! and Thanks to Sithcundman for the links. Now for some loathsome fun as the dreaded tomes assume their blasphemous forms on my workbench! |

Thanks gang.
Also thanks for posting the links. I forgot to do that earlier. These are very fun, and Lovecraft is a stupendous author. I, too, have played 'Call of Cthulu' years ago. I haven't been able to find another group since. And no one on the Island games or builds plastic models (as there are ZERO hobby stores on the Big Island. :(. Only in Honolulu on Oahu). Again, thanks for the comments. I appreciate them, and I had fun building those kits. That's the important part. Cheers. Nikita
