Yes, the tree is paper. It's a cardboard core wrapped with a piece of Toilet paper tube and covered with tiolet paper and gesso. The branches were made from branch shapes cut out of toilet paper tubes, peeled apart and twisted to make multiple branches; glued to the "trunk", and given the same gesso/tp treatment. The whole thing was painted flat black then drybrushed grey, then brown, then washed with a sepia ink.
The leaves were marker-colored typing paper, and punched out. Then glued on one by one. Better side view. |
