Glen, at 1:5000 scale the Warbird/War Eagle miniature is exactly 1.076" long, including the warp engines, and the Snipe is exactly 0.724" long. Both of these miniatures represented the Bird of Prey at one point in SFB, so feel free to use either measurement. Or both.
That Constellation class looks sublime! I can't wait to build a few copies for my fleet. I think I'll try and develop a SSD for both it and the Declaration class so I can actually use these ships in my next engagement. |

Sidewinder and McHale,
I'm converting the files from bitmaps to Jpegs now, and will send them to you in a bit. Then I'll get them posted herre in the Downloads section. |

Tiny Constellations are now up in the downloads.
Millenniumfalsehood: Hmm. So the WarBird/WarEagle of Star Fleet Battles is pretty much the same length as in FASA Trek, about 136m long. Where do you find the dimensions of SFB ships? Are they in any books, magazines or websites? Or are you just measuring off the metal minis? Oh, and I got all my information on the Declaration class at Joshua Bell's web page about it. Good research and extrapolation on his part. |

I measured my minis to get those figures. Dial calipers are a pretty handy little tool to have lying around.

I've been gently but persistently nagged by the question of "exactly what scale are these coming out at anyway" so I finally went through the math of the different programs I'm using. Dead simple, really. Should have done it right off. For the benefit of the curious the answer is one to five thousand one hundred twenty six point I don't care. I am mildly shocked and amazed that my rough estimate of 1:5000 was so close.
Of course if your printer is resizing things at all then you get to do your own math :) It'll probably be a bit more than just a couple days before I knock out another design (TOS-Miranda I'm thinking). I've got a game this weekend and so I should really use the time to get more starships assembled for it. Actually, I expect I'll be using my other (non-Star Trek) paper fleet. |

My stands are foam-core with a toothpick stuck in it. The foam-core is already black. A few seconds with a marker and the toothpick matches :)

Hey Glenn, I'm working on making some FASA designs using your models as a starting point, and I'm starting with the Larson class Federation Destroyer:
After I test-build it I'll try out the Loknar and Derf classes (those are the only others you haven't made from the FASA game). |
