You are doing a great job with a fun set of buildings. Edmund Gillon has created some wonderful building kits. I have, in addition to the Victorian Houses that you are building, An Early New England Village; Victorian Painted Lady; Victorian Railroad Station; Victorian Cottage; Victorian Gothic House; Victorian Single Style House; and A Southern Plantation. I have all of these on my railroad layout. You can see these on my last post under Architectural models "12 lovely ladies in my basement".

All of these were published by Dover Press but they no longer show them on their website. Today, I found most of them on Amazon.com. They must be out of print as the prices were a little high.

I hope you will keep us up to date on your work. Enjoy!!!
Thomas

Hi Mike,
If you mark the folding lines with a needle ore an empty ball pen, you can fold the parts more easily.

Don't be too hard on yourself Mike. I don't think it looks too bad especially when you consider that you're working with tools and material that your are not used to using. Just keep at it... the next one will go a bit easier for you as you get more experience.

thanks for the encouraging words kevin i think the problem is that the outer layer of the model has a glossy finish and the tacky glue does not want to stick that well

Its getting there - early days yet, and as you pick up the skills things will get better.

Its really not bad for a first house!

My first build was this free box building:

3 Pieces (roof, base, walls) and fit single sheet of paper and I had a real exacto knife. Very basic, and turned out as a bit of a mess.

You skipped several grades of difficulty and had improvised tools. I'd say you did much better than I did with your first card model.

Straight in the deep end, and you did just fine!

Did you scan this before building? I've found that my second build on things is generally far superior to my originals.
